Why can't Congress get it together and have a "national voting day"? I couldn't vote for who I wanted!
The media made such a big deal about the caucus in Iowa. My state was in the super Tuesday vote. I didn't get an opportunity to vote for the candidate of my choice as they had already dropped out. This seems jaded to me. I'm sure, since we have the technology available for a national election day, we could vote for the primary in the same way. We'll do it in November! Wouldn't it be great to be able to vote for a candidate that you want? Just think of the money this would save! It wouldn't take months and months of media coverage (which tires me out) to cover every campaign speech, highlight, and debate. Alleluiah!

The Dems have found out the outcomes of transparency: an recommended and offended electorate. they do no longer ought to make that mistake lower back, regardless of the actuality that Obama campaigned on it. And the better area of this finished element is watching Dems attempt to preserve themselves with the help of asserting issues like "that's a delaying tactic." whether surpassed, the law won't take result till 2013. So what's to be won with the help of signing it seventy two hours in the previous?

Money is exactly why there is not a national primary day. It would make sense and be so simple but then what would the news media have to do? They wouldn't be able to pick the candidates for us. Without tv news progams like CNN and MSNBC and Fox the advertisers wouldn't make money on the commercial they sell in between their shows. It always comes back to money.

Dear Marti,
That's one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time.
We should be willing to improve our very imperfect democracy rather than wait for times of Crisis in order to have to try to deal with problems after they've been harmful for many decades.
I agree with that 100%
If we have to amend the Constitution to improve Democracy, then we should do it. After all, wasn't it Thomas Jefferson who said that the Constitution should be re-written every generation to improve it and make it up-to-date?
All the very best,
-Marie
P.S. Also, more should be done so that more people are able to vote on Election day:

With a little tweaking, your question makes too much sense for the Congress to act on. Most of their interest is getting re-elected and making speeches and care not about things that do not further this goal.

I agree, I thought the same thing today. The media and the elites seem to have taken over this election, all the elections for that matter.
The race has come down to three liberals.

i whole heartedly agree.why do we get stuck voteing for only 2 people and not say, 6. it doesn't matter anymore who we vote for because they are all crooked in one way or another. it's time to take the politics out and do what is right for this country but all the politicians want to do is play ploitics and screw the american people any way they can.

Tell me about it.
Try living in Florida where the elections are always contested, not counted or have unclear outcomes!
