well I am like you, but because I am older let me tell exactly my feeling:

    1) Your country is where you live , and work ,in a way

    2) Egypt is a very easy country to live in if you are ok money-wise

    3) Because Egypt is a little loose,, you do not do that big effort to maintain discipline like in other country (al fowdah is easier)

    4) people are getting bad in all over the world , and life is difficult , not only in Egypt,,,(every where there are different kinds of sh*t)

    5) Of course, I would not mind to live any place, if i can just close my door and be with myself,,I thought first that Egyptians are nosy, then I found I was wrong,, people generally everywhere are nosy,,,nowadays

6)If you are an Egyptian , it is easy to live in Egypt than any place else, because you can use your voice (in shouting) better in Egypt,,,(you can have more rights in Egypt than another place, because simply you know how to do so there ,,,more than in a foreign country)

    7) i am thinking a lot to be back to Egypt, I do not need more money, do not want to work, I am very rich with what I have in Egypt , but almost normal out of it,,,,soooo,,I will be back,,

    8) if you are young , have the ability to give more effort, and expect a return for that effort , just stay where you are for now,,,

    9) we feel we need to escape and go back when it is difficult , it is the human nature,, that is why they burn the ship, when they invaded Spain to know there is no way back and have to fight,,,so If you still building your career,,,burn the ships, and fight where you are till you say enough,,, and go back to rest.....

Don't worry, you are not stupid or else I would be stupid too.

I live in Dubai and I dream of that day in which I can settle in my beloved Egypt and I am already taking actions to achieve that goal. I enjoy my stay here but I lack the spirit of life. I cannot find this spirit anywhere but in Egypt. Thank God, I still have my job back home, so, I don't need to think a lot.

    Good Luck dude.

Well, I am American living in China. The benefits are economics, taxation (freedom there from), an interesting job, my beautiful Chinese wife and our two children.

The down sides are variety of food, language and cultural differences, distance from family and friends, pollution, and a feeling of loss over the abilty ot enjoy nature as I did in California.

The end result is living in China is acceptable for the next ten years, but then I will return to the USA. I miss it but can hold out here until tis the right time to head back.

Home is where you hang your hat.

It all boils down to one thing, "there's no place like home". No matter how bad your home country is, you will always have this urge to go back and re-live the old memories. I've been living here in Canada for 12 years now and my life here is much better back home but I miss a lot of things there...
