Muslim girls: can I wear 3/4 sleeve? (see links)?

Salaams,

I am going to Egypt this summer and I would like to dress appropriately like a Muslim girl (I am non Muslim). I have found these 3/4 sleeve tops but I know that Muslimas cannot show above their upper wrist. Would these be considered appropriate for a Muslima?

shokran!

Err.. usually they won't wear 3/4 sleeves as it is not proper hijab but a lot of people don't wear it properly.. if you are pretty young then perhaps you can get away with it.. are you going to be covering your hair? Then it might look odd. They sell these undershirts that are really tight and all of the young people wear them.. but they are not really proper either when you get down to it because they are so tight.. haha.

But you know since you are not Muslim, you won't have a problem with wearing normal clothing (within modesty limits, no shirts and short sleeves for the most part) since there are so many tourists. :)

Honeslty, some girls wear really opened shirts in Cairo and Alexandria. I've seen it! Especialy in Alex, all these girls showing skin. It's nuts! But to be appropriate, I would wear whatever you feel is comfortable. It's going to be hot so of course you can wear 3/4 sleeve. Just don't dress too tight either because guys look at you like your some kind of alien. It got really modernixed there. It's nice and people are so kind. Have fun =)

That would be fine... The only people who should cover their upper writst are girls who wear the hijab(scarf).. ive been to egypt before and have seen many girls go out in short sleeves.. If you want to cover however, take a few tops from here and purchase the rest from egypt.. they have appropriate clothing plus it is cheap! Just reminder, egypt is a hot country, its probably best to wear cotton or light colors.

    Have fun!

Salaams, I respect that you trying to be modest and respectful...masha'Allah. However there is all this talk in here about 'she doesnt have to do this or that cause she is not muslim' uhhh hello people ALLLLLL women are required to dress modestly....this is not a muslim or jew things. All 3 of these faiths require modesty, its only because the jews and chirstians and now muslims have strayed. The bible clearly lays out dress codes...and no free mixing etc. So no offense whatsoever to the asker of this question, but im sad that muslims dont know that its a universal requirement of women and men to be modest.

it will not look like muslim cloths if you will wear like this, you can buy here special short sleeves that you put under it.

but there are muslim girls who wear stufflike this just it's not often and not right.

but why you want to wear like a muslim girl???

you can wear normal. and as the answers above, it depends if you will put scarf, if yes, these shirts don't work, if no, they are super polite :-)

ps. the pink one has also very wide decolt...

Salam to you and all mindkind,

They didn't follow islam in 100%, whos are wearing 3/4 sleeves. And they don't know actual problem and real Islam.

What Islam told about girl dress, these not only for muslim, but all.

May god forgive our sins and we try to follow 100% real islam (without mix modern culture)

Thanks for your question and god bless you.

    If anyone follow

If you not a Muslim , you can wear them, but if you are, then, as you mentioned, i think you have to.

Since Egypt is a multi -religious country, it's ok to wear anything. and i tank you for your concern about your wear.
