Everytime I mention this, no one ever knows what I'm talking about. OK-
On the vinyl version of Joe Walsh's "Walk Away", at the very end of the fadeout, you can hear this sinister, insane laughter if you turn up the volume all the way.

The Downward Spiral album by Nine Inch Nails has an almost organic quality in that still, after over 12 years you can put it on and hear things you have never heard before...almost like the the record is continuing to grow. There are hidden nuggets all over that record like the odd howling at the begging of Big Man With A Gun which I recently found out is the sound of a woman Tommy Lee brought into the studio doing very salacious things with some grapes and her nether regions! The sound you hear is backwards and manipulated but if you listen real close you can hear it.
Because of these hidden gems it makes that record even more scary on ever listen.

I took me a while to hear the voices starting Radiohead's song "The Bends". Maybe I just started playing it louder and louder.
It doesnt matter how many times Ive listened to Mr Bungle's California, each time there are several details that i pick up on for the first time, and usually they arent even that small.
oh, and during Radiohead's No Surprises, at the end when hes repeating "no alarms, and no surprises, please" you hear someone sing "let me out of here" over and over. so cool.

A well-known one--in the end of Happy Jack, you can hear Pete Townshend saying "Saw you!" to Keith Moon. I've only heard it once, since I knew it was there, with the volume all the way up. I literally listened to the song four or five times in a row to hear it!

There's a few songs on "London Calling" that have magnificently placed rain-maker effects... seems a little out of character for a band like The Clash, but I guess not, if you take into consideration the reggae fascination on that record.

At the very end of "They're Red Hot" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, if you turn the volume up real loud, you can hear the sound of crickets.. that's because it was actually recorded outdoors. I actually hadn't noticed this until my friend [Yertle The Turtle, here at Y!A] pointed it out.

In the Trooper by Iron Maiden it sounds like someone talking during the opening riff, turns out it was only the sound of the bass guitar. It was pretty creepy at first.

there is the famous scream in "love rollercoaster" by ohio players
in "he's simple, he's dumb, he's the pilot" by grandaddy, there is a point where they play an almost infinitesimal sample from another song of theirs, "AM 180"
in "reckoner" by radiohead, they use the same sound effect that ends "in limbo" a little after the 4:00 mark
i actually didnt notice any of these by myself
i hope i used the word infinitesimal correctly

For a long time I didn't notice the piano part near the beginning in "Modeify the Pronunciation" by The Devil Wears Prada.
