"Most Native American tribes east of the Mississippi were uncertain about which side, if either, to take during the Revolutionary War, and many remained neutral. A number of tribes, however, feared the Revolution would replace the British--who had worked hard to protect their lands from colonial encroachments--with the land-hungry colonials. As a result, these tribes fought with the British or took advantage of the situation and acted against the colonists on their own. Patriots viewed the Indians as a threat throughout the war. The patriots' use of the term savages for the Native Americans gives a good indication of their overall attitude toward most tribes."

There were a lot of tribes around during this time, and the answer would be all of those. Some tribes wanted nothing to do with the War, or the Americans or the British. Some thought that if they helped the Americans that the Americans wouldn't encroach on their homes (ha, look how that turned out), and some others aided the British because they were Allies (in the end the Brits would abandon them not long after the War of 1812). It was a lose and lose, and more tragically this was had little to do with the Natives in the first place they were just caught up in European drama like they were in the Seven Years War or the wars between the Dutch and British.

For most part the Indians sided with the British--The British used them as scouts as well as shock troops against the colonials
