Have You Left your western mentality?

God must be first in our lives if we are really living for Him. We should remember that if we call ourselves followers of God there must be nothing in this world that must come before Him in our lives. We always want God to be there for us but it is hard to give Him our lives 100%. Remember that anything that occupies our time than the time we spend with and for God, that is our true god. We cannot say we love Him and the only time we can have for Him is the time we go to church (which is just a few hours). He is not telling us to bury ourselves on our knees or in the Bible to show that we are living for Him; but we can keep a song in our thoughts that is focusing on His love and care for us. Also, little deeds, a smile showing someone we care and moreso, giving Him thanks for everything all through the day.

What if life is cut short unexpectedly? Our God who is so loving, caring and longsuffering to us should be our closest friend and companion. Let us not put God in a box and believe He can be popped out when we want Him to and He is no part of our daily lives. His presence should be there with us every moment of our short lives. We cannot let our light shine if the temporary things of this world takes first place. God wants to be with each one of us.

Each day when I awake, I thank Him for giving me life, and I spend time with Him in the word and in prayer. I give Him my life for that day, to take full control. That way I am able to resist the devil and better communicate with God. I am able to experience His love for me. I feel special and I am able to tell someone of His love and His goodness.

God must not be taken for granted. We must try by His help to be the sons and daughters He wants us to be.

Time is running out, so get ready, and serve Him in Spirit and in truth.

You don't need to be a holy roller all the time. It'll drain you, and you'll end up with nothing to show for it except a mountain of guilt.

It's better to enjoy life.

If some preacher keeps telling you that you're not concentrating hard enough on your religion, that just means he/she is insecure and wants more of your business. At times we all consider our favorite hobbies to be the most important thing in the world, but for some reason only preachers seem to think it's appropriate to yell at other people for not agreeing on that matter.

I think there has to be balance in how we conduct ourselves, and I think Jesus would agree. He wasn't always reading scripture and praying in church. At least a couple of times he's shown at parties!

I don't know who Jesus is or why he came. The son of God seems an inaccurate description because God can't literally have a son. If God can, there's nothing to stop God having a wife or mother either.
