Did I do the right thing by turning in my ex girlfriend?
I found out my girlfriend 2 months ago was getting social security disability. I confronted her because she was bartending 3 nights a week. She told me to keep queit as she is not supossed to be on her feet for more than 20 min. at a time. Well, I became angry because of this and turned her in for soscial security fraud. She already lost the 2 bartending jobs, and said she could lose her house and go to prison. Now I have some remorse. I thought I was doing the right thing. I also had a death threat from her father. HELP!!!!

The less people cheating the system means the more people who need help are getting it. What you did was right and to your own personal detriment, you're a really good person.

What is done is done so get on with your life. Apparently she is not anyone you really want in your life so be done with her. However, you need to report what her father said to you. Go to the police station and at least put it on record. That way if anything was to happen you would have some backup for yourself. The only other advise I can give you is to stay away from this person - the farther the better.

Yes, it was good that you told on her. That's not right for her to do that, the money is to go to people that are truely not able to work at all! I mean if she can't stand for along time she can get a wheel chair and work at Walmart, sounds like there's ways around it, and the governement gives away disability to easy! America is not going to last at the rate things are going. Hurray for the good citizen!

I'm sure you tried to convince her to stop first. You did what you could to help her stop and if she continues to commit a crime, you have to turn her in. If her father condones her daughter's criminal activities, he is the reason why she is a criminal. You didn't commit the crime. Don't feel guilty but stay away from people like that. They tend to blame the world for all of their own problems.

Aw don't worry, you did the right thing :) Don't let her make you feel guilty, she's just blaming you because she's trying to direct her regret at doing it at you instead since it's easier to think that it wasnt her fault.

yes, you did the right thing. you confronted her first and gave her the chance to do the right thing, but she didn't take that chance. it would have been wrong for you to keep quiet. b/c that money needs to go to people who actually need it and follow the rules.
