Is it wrong to respect Belichick?

I am not a Pats fan, but I am a Belichick fan.

I have always respected him for putting together winning teams that play with the 'team' concept better than the others.

I have also respected him for toying with the NFL on the injury reporting rule. It is a dumb rule and he exploited it ...legally.

He may have taken his exploitations too far with the spygate incident...but if you don't push boundaries you will never know where they are.

I don't feel that breaking a rule in the first 1/2 of the first game of the season takes anything away from the accomplishment of going undefeated during the regular season.

Apparently I am in the minority.

I think if the Pats would have gone 11-5 and lost in the first or second round of the playoffs...well, spygate would not even be recognizable word.

I would just like to say that I appluad Bill and the Patriots for striving for perfection. Somebody has to.

I don't like the fact that he taped the Jets after the rules were make clear, this was very arrogant. Very disrespectful of the NFL. Also Football is still entertainment.. he needs to lighten up with the media. Perhaps he can hire Peytons image consultant.. he did a great job lightening up Peytons image.

I respect the man for playing tough with superstar salaries. At least prior to 2007, I am just not sure what he did with salerys in 2007 . In the past he tended to have his salary cap spread more evenly among the players, and let superstars go so he can maintain more depth. That takes guts letting players that the fans love and can make big plays, to go in favor of depth that you know can win season.

I don't put to much stock in the taping being a big advantage. There is allot that goes into a football game. And their are legal ways to steal defensive signs.

So at the end of the day, I think he was the first coach to build a dynasty in the salary cap, and I think he would have done so taping or not. He would have just invested more money in the official ways of stealing signals.

So yes I respect the man, he could have had a lot more respect if he just showed some respect.

Well I am a Patriots fan. However as a Patriots fan any player or coach thats belonged to the organazation gets my respect including Adam V. the kicker who now plays for the Colts. Drew Bledsloe who ended up playing for Buffalo and the Cowboys. Actually when Bledsloe played in Foxobough against the Patriots for the other teams he actually recieved a standing ovation from Pat's fans. How many other players have recieved standing ovations from the fans of their former teams.

So no matter where Belichick ends up he will always be a Patriot in the heart of this Patriot fan.

As for respecting Belichick no your not wrong. Honestly I went to see this spygate thing get fully investigated, because the same thing that happened with Bonds and the resounding effects is going to happen with spygate.

Did you read the article about Rams taping and what Bill had to say?? I found it very interesting. What I found more interesting is how the story was later changed. A stubble little change but something I noticed.

In all his years as a Coach or an assisting coach he has never seen taping of walk throughs he doesn't even tape his own teams.

Later the assisting coach thing was dropped. However the exact way it was worded leaves implications that he has seen this practice before not only as a head coach.

It's great that they strifed for perfection but not take it all the way might lead many to believe that if you give it your all in the beginning there is nothing left for the end when it matters most.

I respect his knowledge of the game, sometimes his arrogance can rub me the wrong way, but he is a proven winner. Like a previous write wrote, look at his legacy, the men who were his asst's and now are head coaches.

The film dude is looking for some cash, after all he is a caddy now, fired from the team. Probaly for filming things who shouldnt have, and apparently claims to have the film. This was not ordered, or requested by the team. He did this on his own, and no one from the Pats organization viewed the 'SO CALLED' film.

After a complete investigation, if Bill is found to be guilty of other things, I believe, as great a coach as he is, he should step down. The Patriot players have been battered and bruised enough from all this.

Well considering that he has been ILLEGALLY taping since 2000 YES it is wrong. There are other teams that strive for "team" concept. There are other teams that strive for perfection. He isn't the only one. He isn't toying with the injury report because no one falls for it. He simply looks stupid with it. As to it being the start of a game, yeah that wouldn't take anything away if he wouldn't have had a LIBRARY of tapes on the other teams.

Oh and if he is such a "great coach" and a "genius" what was he doing in Cleveland? Oh yeah having an owner that cared too much that he couldn't cheat.

hell yeah he became into incorrect. he could instruct some admire for Joe Gibbs. so a ways as those 1983 scores. Joe Gibbs became into no longer working up the score. while those video games have been given out of hand Joe ran the ball up the midsection with john riggins back and back. although neither of those communities would desire to grant up the run and riggins persevered to interrupt long runs. i doubt Joe Gibbs might ever run up a score.

I have no respect for Bill Belichick. Simply because Bill Belichick has no respect for anyone else. Period

#1 He denied valuable realtime playing experience to the backups when games were over at halftime. Those backups do have careers of their own and hopes of starting somewhere in the NFL, you know. But, Brady stayed in to get his beloved records. No respect for up-and-coming players.

#2 He cheated this year, in years past, admitted it, gave at best a weak excuse for not following league protocol concerning the videotaping rules. The rules are very clear in the league rulebook. No respect for other teams or the league.

#3 He has continually dissed other coaches and teams by running up the score unnecessarily, refused the post-game handshake, and has hard feelings toward his former assistants who are now elsewhere, among other things. No respect for his peers.

There are those who have actually called Bill Belichick a genius. That's a slap in the face to legends like Bill Walsh, Paul Brown and others who really have molded and shaped the NFL into the great sport it is today. Without having to deal with major controversies.

No, I have no respect for Bill Belichick.

Two of my all time favorite movie characters are Darth Vader and Gordon Gecko (for some reason I love cheering for the villain) so I guess I can respect Belichick too.

Nice to see someone outside NE see through the media hype.

I also love the way he gives the league office the finger. Its why he wears the cutoff pull over hoodie. I wouldn't want him as my neighbor, but he is one of the best coaches out there.
