Do you think he is ready for a toddler bed?
My son likes to take his diaper and pants off. So I went into is room to check on him during nap time and he had poop smeared all over his bed sheets, crib , bumper, and his lovee stuff animal. He can't sleep without the bumper and the doll. Trust me. We took the bumper out before and he went nuts for a couple of nights in a row. So we just put it back in. Do you think I should just change is crib into a toddler bed? I think that would help get over the bumber not being there. I just think that maybe it would be one less thing that he would have to get over. He is not a happy guy right now.
I don't want to buy him a bed. We are moving soon and I rather wait and but the bed for his new room. I rather put a gate on his crib. Do you think that would be ok to do. Or should I just buy a bed?

Both my kids were in toddler beds @ 18 months, it didn't matter to me about the diapers, I did it by age and the fact I was in need of a crib for the next baby coming. Both kids had no trouble transitioning, I let them pick out their bed and their bedding and they were quite happy to have their size furniture that they could feel like a big kid in.

Hi Ashley! With my first two kid's I stuck to the books on everything! As soon as my girls turned one, they started bumping their heads on the crib rails all night, and would wake up. So instead of putting the bumpers back on, I got them a toddler bed....
Then the issue became not being able to get them to stay in the bed to sleep. At least in the crib, they would mess around until they finally feel asleep. They started getting out of bed in the middle of the night when noone was awake to see what they were doing.
With the third I realized that if I take away the crib, I'll be back at square one again with the bed battle. I've left the bumpers on her crib this time. She doesn't play with them at all, but then again she doesn't take naps either like the other two.
I am going to wait as long as I can before I make the switch. As long as the bumpers are not causing a problem, they are staying on!
My daughter is 19 months and she will take everything off as well, when she's bored. I got a brown surprise on my bed one day... I know how you feel... I have to keep a onesises on her so her diaper stays on... Or it's a battle..
He will eventually get over the bumper thing. Keep it on for now. Once you introduce the toddler bed to him, he will forget all about the bumper. I'm hoping to keep my daughter in a crib until at least 2.... Hopefully we can hold off until 3..! Or at least until she starts falling out of it... I've never had that happen... Thank god! Anyway, Good luck! Remember, in the end.... we parents always win!!!! :0)

First things first, the diaper. One of my three kids did the same thing over and over again. We simply added a roll of clear packing tape to our diaper bag and ran a piece all the way around the diaper every time we changed her ( be careful not to get it on his skin).
As far as the bed os concerned we didn't use a toddler bed. When they started trying to get out of there cribs we took the crib mattress out and put it right on the floor. That made it so they couldn't fall and get hurt. All of them were in twin beds with no rails by the time they were three.
Good luck and Be patient.

how old is he?? if he is at the age where he can take his clothes off then he should be ready. try takin off the rail of the crib and see how he likes it. i have 3 yr old twins and they sleep in the same room. they went through that stage where they would take off their diaper and all the good stuff (i have a big poo stain on my wall..lol) when they started to take off their clothes and climbing out i took off the rail. that helped alil, but then they didnt want to go to sleep. then i moved them into toddler beds just before they turned 3 and they love it! they think it is the best thing ever they got excitied. they havent takin off their clothes or anything they use to. hope that helps
