Exactly where was Jesus born?
Where does Luke say he was born?
Where does Matthew say he was born?
Where does Mark say he was born?
Where does John say he was born?
They seem to give three different answers.
After further research:
Matthew says that Mary was in Bethlehem, moving to Nazareth after Jesus' birth and after Herod's massacre of the innocents. (Matthew 2:1)
Mark never mentions an important topic such as this. He just says that Jesus came from Nazareth. (Mark 1:9)
Luke says that Mary lived in Nazareth before Jesus' birth, but went to Bethlehem for the census, where he was born, immediately followed by Herod's massacre of the innocents. (Luke 2:7)
This census, however, was in 6 A.D. ana after Herod's death.
John never mentions this important topic either, but he hints that Jesus came from Nazareth. Jesus' followers were surprised that he was not born in Bethlehem. (John 7:41-42)
So it's not three different answers, mind you, but four different histories.

Matt 2:5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
Matt 2:6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Mark did not say were it did not need, it started right with John the baptist
Luke agrees with Matthew
Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; because (he was of the house and lineage of David:)
Luke 2:5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
and John speaks from a spiritual point and bring to the fact that is was God who was sent to earth and made flesh
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made
...
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us

They are all incorrect. He was actually born in Nazareth. Him being born in Bethlehem was just a story they came up with to make it seem as if he was born in the "town of David." All that stuff about a census is bull. Historical records show that no such census ever occurred, and even if it had, Joseph and Mary most certainly wouldn't have had to go to Bethlehem. The Bible says that they were required to go to the town of their ancestors, and Joseph was descended from David. However, it makes no sense at all to be sent to a town your ancestor from over a thousand years ago lived. That would be like making me travel to Germany just to register for a census. Makes no sense at all.
Secondly, there were many towns called Bethlehem. It is Hebrew for "bread-house," so it could refer to any town with a flour mill.

Matthew and Luke mentions Jesus' birth at Bethlehem. Mark and John make no reference to his birth. there is no contradiction

That is hard to say considering that there is no record of his birth (or death). There is no record of a village, town, or city named Nazareth until after the time Jesus supposedly lived. The historian Flavius Josephus makes no mention of it in his list of the cities, towns, and villages in Galilee. Nazareth also does not appear in the Old Testament or any document or literature before the third century C.E.; although a cemetery by that name dating to the first century C.E. has been noted by Franciscans.
Further, there is no physical or contemporary historical evidence of any kind that anyone named Jesus or anyone that could have been Jesus, ever lived. There is no description of what Jesus might have looked like from anyone who would have been alive to see him at the time Jesus was supposed to have lived. Similarly, there is not one word he might ever have spoken that was written down by anyone who could have been there.

The later is based on data that proves that a comet would have appeared on that day, not December 25'th. Also, the reason for placing Christmas on December 25'th is that it is about the same time as many pagan rituals, which makes the transition from pagan religions to Christianity easier and thus makes it easier to sell.

The Bible says that He was born in Bethlehem. If you believe the Bible then that must be where He was born. Other prophets in the old testament prophecy that He would be born in bethlehem.
