You should give Jamendo a try. All of the artists on there chose to release their music under a Creative Commons license instead of the traditional copyright license, allowing for free distribution and sharing. It is 100% free and 100% legal.

That's because it's NOT free to download music. It's ILLEGAL!! Plus if you do find a site, the record companies may do one of at least two things: 1) SUE you and they have sued many people for THOUSANDS; and 2) put viruses into the free websites so as to interfere with downloading and playing music as well as using your computer fully. My suggestion would be to buck up and go to iTunes or Yahoo to legally get music you want.
