Do you think it's acceptable that kids are posting homework questions on Yahoo Answers and people are actually

doing the work and answering for them?!?!

I mean, at first I thought it was absurd that kids are coming to YA to do their hw....then I see that people are DOING it for them...i dont know which is more absurd!

I personally find it outrageous! I mean where was yahoo answers when I was in school?!?! heck i see so many homework answers being posted and all these people answering....what do these people gain? they don't get paid a dime, these kids aren't going to learn much except getting someone else to do their work.......

If the kid is trying hard and stuck on a problem or needs advise fine, but entire questions and problems are being fully posted.......

I agree with you. Once in a while if someone asks for grammar help, I'll throw a bone, but some of these full on questions is horrible. If I caught either of my kids asking online for someone to do their work for them, they'd be in a lot of trouble. Not to get on my political high horse, but it goes to show how lazy some of the younger generation is these days and they want everyone to do everything for them.

well sometimes we struggle with stuff. sometimes i could sit and try and figure out a problem for like an hour, and i still don't understand it. if people enjoy math and so on, and want to answer these questions, there's no problem with it. and you have to post a whole problem in order to get help. i also don't come on here to get someone else to do my work. when i post a problem, i also ask for explaining so i could figure out how to do the rest of the problems in the book. most kids get 30-40 problems a night, and nobody posts that much.

I try to answer homework questions somewhat vaguely. If it is a math question I will often show how to set up the equation, but not solve it, or give links to where to find info.

I think its silly when people ask for full essays, but it seems like most people are only posting like, one question or so when their assignments might be 10 or more problems.

I've made a point of answering all questions I can, but usually they are only suggections or instructions on how to do a problem. I've yet to answer a post that had numbers 1-15 and said solve all.

It shows that kids are resourceful. While they're getting the answers, there is no guarantee that they are correct.

Also, it's a known fact that you learn by writing so... maybe they are learning as they go... it's only homework (eecks- here come the thumbs down)- it's not like they're taking tests.

At least they're DOING their homework. (tee-hee)

but look at this...what if no one can help them and it's due soon

who are we to go to?? we don't know the answers and need help understanding it...so we post and hope for help and knowledge

You're just bitter because you didn't have such a convenience when you were in school. Keep quiet and let them cheat.

I prefer this type of intellectual innovation on their behalf.
