***PLEASE READ**** Has anyone experienced negative symptoms from TEMPUR-PEDIC bed???

After ONE night of sleeping on my new bed I awoke feeling nauseous... had a headache... heart palpitations... rash... and raspy dry throat!!! The house was consumed with the noxious odor of the chemicals used in the manufacturing of the bed... When I phoned the company they assured me the fumes were non toxic... and completely harmless... If this is true... why did I have such a strong reaction??? I had my husband remove the beds last night (We bought my daughter one as well) My three year old also woke up with a terrible raspy cough... The smell is still lingering but my symptoms have dissipated and today I feel much better!!! Have anyone ever heard of this type of reaction to a bed??? I think the chemicals in the bed are TOXIC... I don't care what they say... I am just glad to be rid of them and have them out of my house!!! Except for the fact that we slept on a air matress last night...

We did not sleep on our new tempur pedic mattress for the 1st 7 days we had it because of the strong smell which wafted through our entire house. Take advantage of the 3-month return policy, if you have it, and sleep elsewhere. In the meantime, take the cover off the bed, walk on it, be patient, and it will get better. Having said that, we are 8 weeks into our new mattress and must change the sheets every 2-3 days before they are drenched with the odor. We're watching it carefully up to the end of the 3-month deadline, but even with the smell, it would be hard to return since the pluses outweigh the negative smell and the hassle. Definitely consult the store where you bought it and do more research online. Good luck!

The only person I know with one of these beds had the same problem, and memory foam is widely known to produce large amounts of toxic gases. Its amazing to me that the aren't facing a pile of lawsuits.
