Has anyone out there joined the North American Fishing Club? Is the membership worth it?

For only $1 per month, the free gifts and other offers sound good, but I am not sure about having to pay for 3 years of membership in advance to get them. They offer a refund if not satisfied, but that would be a hassle, I'm sure.

Are the magazines any good? Do they really send gear out for you to use and keep as long as you rate it? Any info about them would be appreciated. Thanks :-)

Update:

What I got said for 3 years of membership ($36.00), I get a magazine monthly and also "free" 8 piece fillet knife set, wing-it bobbers and hooks. In addition, "product testing privileges", "giveaway opportunities", and a "fishing resource directory". Hmmmm....

I did once (join) the gifts and test items they sent me were just trinkets and mostly junk, but I enjoyed the magazines so I thought the price was right.

Currently thinking of getting NA Hunting club same thing except hunting. Expectations are for a good cheap magazine only though, I doubt they will send me a S&W 500 to test and keep.

I don't recommend the fishing or hunting version. It is a total money game. They send you stuff all the time, and if you don't send it back you've bought it. They send so many different books and knives and other things that eventually you'll misplace one. It's all a money thing, the bad part is they act like they represent us. In a three year membership, you'll be getting the some of the same articles, just different pictures.

So, if you're into all that, do it.

I have been a member for about a year now, the mags are very tiny, but the stuff you are given and the things you learn are very worth the membership

I sent away for it and they sent me a free trial packet and 2wks later they said that i did not pay for it although it said it was a free trial packet and they wanted $45 and if i didn't pay for they would cancel my membership so they did and they canceled it so yeah i Think it was a rip off. Like they say nothing is free anymore.

DONT DO IT. They rip you off. They say they give you free stuff but they are just in for it for the money. They said I would get 3 things for free for like 1 dollar, but they really asked for 45.

if they are anythiing like the NA hunting club I would not do it........total rip off and they will send you books and stuff you did not ask for and expect you to buy them or send them back....I will not deny that the magazines are good but you can buy magazines anywhere that are just as good
