Is there a difference in the living conditions between enlisted and officers in the Army?

Is there a big difference? Do officers have to put up with the same BS enlisted guys do? Thanks in advance.

Yes, there are definite and many differences, not just in quarters, either. Officers get paid more, and the Officers' Club is generally much nicer than the Enlisted Club (although, if a base has a Sergeant's Club, that's usually the most fun place to be).

Officers get nicer quarters, nicer parking spots (if they are senior enough), nicer pay, nicer everything. They have to put up with a lot more politics.

Yes. EM's must live in barracks for most unaccompanied tours. NCO's and officers have more choices.

No - it's different BS. 2nd LT's get almost no respect from anyone, at least until they earn it. After getting chewed out by a full Colonel who can end your career with a pen stroke, and having to endure years of staff assignments for every year leading troops, many Soldiers would choose to stay in the NCO ranks. IN fact, many SF soldiers have made that choice.

When I was in Kuwait us enlisted slobs lived in tents. The high ranking officers stayed in 5 star hotels in Kuwait City.

    So yeah.

Yes. And no, no one goes in and inspects the officers' quarters, unless someone screws up.
