Swollen lymph glands?

On the left-front side of my neck (between my neck and collar bone)i have what i believe is a swollen lymph gland. its about the size of a golf-ball. its been that way for prolly over 2 years, while there is usually no pain what so ever when pressed there is slight agitation. i read that this is a common site for lymphatic cancer, do u think that this is cancer?

    PLEASE GET IT CHECKED!

That location is the where the GI drains its lymphatics, and the classic is the Virchows node (above collar bone' that swells during stomach cancer) - Dont stress though, if your young without family history its probably not this, but is is a real possibility, so go to the DR, he will examine it prob aspirate it, look at it under microscope and tell you whats gonna happen.

Again if you had no other symptoms, its probably not the case, but simply because it follows a classic pattern seen in Stomach cancer, get it checked.

If your lymph glands are swollen then the most obvious answer is that you have an infection. So go to your doctor. Nobody can diagnose you without seeing you.

The fact that it has been there for over two years speaks against this being cancer. There are other possibilities such as a branchial cleft cyst. Thymic gland cyst but also thyroid tumor and lymph node enlargement should be considered. Go get it checked.

If you have had this for 2 years with no other symptopms I doubt you have cancer.

I would look more into possibly a blocked saliver gland, which is in the spot you describe. I have had this and mine was massive too.

Have you noticed that it has gotton bigger? NOW that is a warning sign.

Is it bigger at certain times?

Do you have any opther symptoms?

Go to your doctor and ask for a blood test just to rule out anything nasty.

Either way get this checked out :)

i know that you would like to know whats going on and your are suspicious and would like to be reassured that everything will be OK, but until you get it checked out by a physician, you wont know and feel safe about anything. i do hope that everything will be OK with you. i let a mammogram be put off being done for over a year. needless to say the news was not good, i kept telling my self that everything was OK and didn't bother going to the Dr. to be checked out. now i wish i had gone to the Dr. time i thought something was wrong. i had never really been sick before. hope every thing works out for the good.

i dont know about yours enough to say if it is cancer or not but usually if it is it would have spread by now so feel around for other lumps and you should get it checked because im getting mine looked at today. i will tell you my result.

in the meantime take a look at this site and to find symtoms that represent you. http://wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/swollen_lymph_nodes....

    good luck and best wishes

go to your dr and have your thyroid level checked.

I personally had a cancerous tumor from my thyroid there. Yours may be nothing but they may want to biopsy it to be sure.

    Good luck.
