Fish diet, What does Tilapia taste like?

Im on a strict fish diet and it seems to be really working, the thing is im not very familiar with what fish to eat, im really bored with cod, coley and haddock, so i want to splash out on something a bit more exciting like Tilapia, has anybody had this and could tell me if its nice, also any more great fish ideas, i live in london so i find it quite easy to get most things, basically i place my fish in a pot of sauce on high heat (lid on) and let the steam cook it, is this right for tilapia.

Tilapia is very mild & is great about taking on whatever flavors you want to give it (lemon & dill, blackened Cajun spices, etc.). There's nothing at all wrong with cooking it in a pot with a lid. It's very inexpensive & I think you'd enjoy it.

she puts sweet chili sauce on talapia?! something that strong will destroy the flavor of the fish! A very simple butter and sage sauce goes well with talapia, serve the fish with broccoli and wild rice. Salmon goes well completely plain with some steamed veggies. There are a few things you should tell your mom though. If she's counting calories she should eat steamed veggies instead of brown rice. Brown rice is very high in calories, and veggies have about the same fiber and WAY more viatamins. Also, eating fish that much is really dangerous to your health! A study showed that women who ate fish 2 times a week had MERCURY and LEAD levels that were three times the EPA's safe limit. Think about eating chicken instead... especially you! You'll probably have kids one day and if you're eating that much fish now, your babies could have serious birth defects.

we brought some jamican talipia last summer on a whim because it was cheap in tesco. we had never cooked it before and had no idea what to expect. after a long debate on how to cook it we settled on the barbque as that way if we didnt like it we could chuck on a few burgers. we put it on some flat tin foil with fresh chillies and lime juice then put the tin foil into a sort of bag ( dont wrap but make a bag big enough to allow the fish to steam) sealing in all the juices and chucked it on the barbque for about 20 mins ( do them indervidually) check the fish is cooked before you serve if not just do your foil bag up again and put it on for a little longer.

this was just yummy and we do this when ever we have a barbque and you can even do it in the oven you just dont get the barbque taste but still yummy.

Tastes like dirt. It's gritty with a quite muddy flavour. I stopped buying it even before I heard how bad it was for your health. It's just a poor choice. It's farm raised and is sometimes fed poo. Depends on where in the world you're purchasing it. Good luck.

Buy some and eat it... to me tilapia tastes dirty... others disagree, but I learned recently that tilapia and catfish are bred alongside salmon to keep the water clean... you don't want to know how they keep the water clean.

Tilapia has a mild mild flavor so if you steam it..add some good seasonings you like...or a light sauce..or just a splash of lemon, salt, and pepper!!!

There are many healthy fruits and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables like broccoli and green spinach contain calcium and are packed with fiber.
