what age does a child have to be??

does anyone know the age in the state of florida when a child can pick what parent he or she wants to live with? and what all is involved? a friend of mine is going through this and i dont have the answers as ive never been though it!! thanks !!

    I'm not sure about FL, but in AL the wishes of the child are given more weight by the courts beginning at age 12. Ultimately, though, the courts still determine custody based on the best intrests of the child overall. It's not always based solely on their wishes.

    The age is12 years old.I was born and raised in florida and I went threw the same problem.I also asked the courts one day while getting info... on somebody.

    In Georgia she or he must be at least 15 years of age.
