Are you a 40ish man?

If you are, I would appreciate any suggestions you can give me! My husband is getting ready to turn 40. He's hard to buy for anyway, but I'd like to get him some nice things that he will really enjoy. So what I'm wondering about is what kind of shows/games/movies/books/things/etc did you love when you were younger? Also, I will explain the kinds of things he does like. Books, he mostly only likes science fiction, something at least magical or supernatural happening. Movies, he likes a good range of things, comedy, action, & science fiction are pluses. He loves to learn, loves informational books, DVDs, that sort of thing. He knows a lot about computers, he's a techie, he tires of them though, it's his job. Examples of movies: Transformers, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Stealth, Stardust, Transporter, Breach. Books: Terry Brooks, Emily Drake, Steven Gould, Dean Koontz. & for music, Air Supply, Journey, Abba. Many thanks in advance for anything you can advise me on! :o)
