Can I eat after taking castor oil?

Ok. I woke up, ate a bowl of cereal and than took 3 tablespoons of castor oil (I'm 39 wks pregnant and my dr said knock yourself out so don't have a stinkin cow !) I went to get my nails done, grabbed some mickey ds and came home and pooped. I actually feel quite cleansed. But no contractions, not even one. You think its b/c I can't stop eating??? I'm eating chips now. I can't help it !!!

I honestly dont think what youve eaten has anything to do with it. While castor oil is very good at someone have diarrhea, it may NOT work to put you into labor. Your baby has to be ready and your body has to be ready. My sister had her castor oil in a milkshake and then ate some food after that. She went to bed.. and woke up at 3am with contractions. At 9:06 am I was holding my brand new baby niece. Sometimes it takes a while for the castor oil to work its magic. Good luck.

if u read thebottle it says "best of taken on an empty stomach"..girl, when i did that i was on the pukin within the hour (felt like a wad of grease in my belly) but soon after that i was on the shytter over the next 3 hours...no contractions though...regardless, ive tried it 2 times and notta damn thang has been relieved except my constipation...

on ur account though, what goes in must come out so just give 'er some time

No its because castor oil is a myth and promotes pooping.. its an old wives tale.

it has nothing to do with you eating a lot. it doesn't work. your doctor only told you to do it because it doesn't do anything but give you freakin' diarrhea. it has no harm to the baby, except maybe dehydration.. which, actually, can cause contractions, but don't even think about it.
