where did the "book of life" come from?

We were reading from Psalms yesterday and read in 69:28 - " May they be blotted out of the book of life...."

So King David knew about this book in his time. There is reference to Ex 32:32 where Mosos spoke - " ......I will blot him out of My book.........."

This is the first reference to "the book" in Scripture.

So, where did Moses come up with the concept?

(there are no earlier references)

Only thing I could think of is the Book of Life, that has the names written down of believers in Heaven.Did Moses ever have a vision or was this revealed to him? Just guessing...
