Have you seen the movie Four Brothers? Why was there a hit man hired to kill their mother?

I saw the movie last night for the first time and thought it was good, but I must of went in the other room for something because I never caught the part on why the mother was killed. Thanks for your answers.

    a hit was puty on their mother due to insurace money.
