Loosing weight?

with appropriate diet and exersciese, how much weight can you loose in 4 months ?

I am 5'6 and weigh 178 pounds i would like to get down to 140 is that possible before summer?

    I think thats pretty possible..

    The "safe" or "healthy" amount of weight that a human being can loose is about 4 lbs a week. If your loosing alot more than this per week, then your doing something wrong and your not loosing weight in a healthy fashion.

    Your looking to loose about 40 lbs and you have about 14 weeks to do so. Of course, your not always going to loose exactly 4 lbs a week, soo we'll say you even shoot way low and only loose 2 lbs a week for 14 weeks, youll still loose 30 lbs!

    Soo, your goal is very realistic! I think you should just watch what you eat and eat smaller portions. DONT be on the scale every 5 mins because your food intake varies each day! Instead, measure yourself in the morning only, right when you wake up, before you eat breakfast or anything. Go by this weight throughout ur weeks, and it will by fairly relative.

    Take your time, you may not loose weight steadily. In most cases, youll start to loose weight and then you'll gradually slow down on your weight loss. Exersice and muscle gain doesnt hurt, since muscles burn calories and for this, get your protein! (thats meats and fish)

    Remember to limit your portions!!!!

    Sure it is but you would have to burning a lot of calories everyday, and eating a lot of Protein. Good Luck, even if you can't get to 140 whatever your able to lose will make you feel better than you do right now, and thats better than nothing! :)
