taxes on unemployment benefits?

I used form 1099 to enter my benefits on my tax return. So now I can consider those taxes paid? I don't have to do anything else?

You should have entered any unemployment benefits on a certain line on your tax forms because it's not considered ordinary income. After that, they should have been a box about income tax witholding regarding those benefits.

You might want to have a professional look at your tax return to get it amended soon. Not paying enough in taxes can get you into a big mess with the IRS.

Sounds like you have your affairs in order and hopefully the IRS will not correspond with you in 5-7 years. Hope you got some money back.

As long as you entered the u.c. info on your tax return and filed it, there's nothing else you need to do
