What does this icon mean?It,s a magnifying glass.?
It appeared a few days ago and when I "moused " it it says "detection ennabled".It is in the bottom right hand corner of the screen,where the clock is and other icons.
Sorry to be so dim ,but, scanning for what?

Gonna go out on a limb here coz your questions a bit vague!
Scanning or searching is generally what the magnifying glass means as to what its scanning for it could be a number of things, it could be your anti virus or anti spyware (99% certain thats what it is) or maybe you have some other program installed like say google search or similar they use a magnifying glass icon too!
Without knowing more I can't really say more!
With most icons in the System Tray (The ones near the clock) if you right click them you will get a right click menu of options for the program the icon is associated with so try that to find out more!

it quite is my wide-unfold question of the nighttime...pointless, yet for some reason made me snort. Now i'm guffawing much greater that lots of people have responded this question heavily!!!
