If the PSU works in another PC then it does sound like a bad Motherboard. Try taking the whole thing apart and putting it back together starting up with just the board and CPU nothing else plugged in to cause a post code (you may have already,) if it doesn't get something then I agree it sounds like a bad board.

dead or alive?
um, it could be anything (obviously besides the PSU)
sometimes ram can do this,
videocards can
cpu's can
but yes mobo is the first thing to look at
are any of the fans connected straight to the psu? that's a good indication.
but if nothing happens. check the case switch is plugged in right, if it is, then un plug it and touch the two terminals with a screwddriver to see if you can turn it on with that.
if not even a hard drive spins for a moment it's either faulty switch or mobo
and referring to the first answer, how is he supposed to do a bios update if it doesn't turn on?

You sure you've got the SW1 wire, from the front panel switch to the correct two pins on the mobo? Are you sure the Power On switch is good? Jump the SW1 pins on the mobo, with all the other front panel connectors not connected. (Touch the two pins with a jumper wire, briefly) Is the cpu power lead from the power supply connected to the mobo? Sometimes in our haste, we forget the little things!

What do you mean via "the cardboard works in this computer"? If the LEDs at the instant are not lights up and there are not any submit beeps, i might say the motherboard is toast. It has to bypass the undergo additionally be usable.

Calculate the power wattage total needed for each component in comparison to the power supply load. Also, make sureyou have the power wires connected properly to the switch. http://www.desktopsupport.tv/

If you NO fans running, and you have a typical power supply, then the issue is the power supply. Its internal fan should come on when you power it up, regardless of the mobo. Unless you have one of those fancy power supplies that only runs the fan when it gets hot.
Maybe a bad power switch on the case?

I google'd your issue, and apparently you need to do a bios update to get your mobo to work with wofldale (E8400)
