How do I get experience? Jobs demand it, but won't give opportunity. CATCH 22!!?

There's a lot of ways to get work experience, some of which have already been mentioned. An internship is one way to get great corporate experience, and you might be able to get it even after graduating. Even better is a co-op, which usually lasts for at least 6 months and is more often a paid position.

A smaller firm is more likely to hire you with less experience than a bigger one, and you might enjoy working for them more anyway. Also, take a look at companies who hire from various fields. Forensic accounting has a lot of exciting investigative work that hires a lot of people from different other fields (and out of college). Check out the "Big 4" accounting firms for more info on that. The same for investigative law firms. Look into government jobs such as local law enforcement, or even FBI and CIA. Finally, remember that a job often changes, so don't eliminate choices that don't sound like they're offering exactly what you're looking for. Talk to the employers and see if there is a possibility of changing assignments after some time, or being in a rotation program.

Advertise yourself as an independant buisness owner with a degree. Say you are willing to work for free or cheap in return for a good reference in the future. Or volunteer for people who could use your help under the same conditions. And then you'll have a little portfolio for you next emplyer!

I even have by no skill considered a widely used offense petty larency get detention center time for his or her first offense. You need to develop skills that make you unique. Remember when searching for a job you are marketing yourself.

I would think it is like anyother job. It has to do more with the people that you know.
