if i copied a part of a document on Wikipedia, is it illegal if it was telling hat something is or is about?

    Wikipedia entries are governed under the GNU Free Documentation License. Generally speaking, Wikipedia entries may be freely copied by individuals.

    If this was for a school paper or something, then you may be accused of plagiarism unless you cite your sources. I wouldn't worry about it.
