Yes, the kids would be interested in growing plants, I know I was as a kid. However, if you plan to preach global warming, you should have the kids' parents sign consent forms beforehand. Parents have a right to determine what doctrines their children should be exposed to.
I'm sure your parents would want to know if someone came into your classroom preaching the importance of owning firearms, or experimenting with drugs, or some other such ideology. Respect goes a long way when trying to open the minds of others, just as I'm respecting your belief in man-made global warming even though I disagree with you.
Edit: Wow...a thumbs down for parental rights. Good thing I have the option to send my kids to private school or home school them myself.

kids love to plant and watch things grow especially if they do it themselves1)short term get them to plant flowers or a vegetable plants that they can watch grow and transplant into a garden regardless of size they can watch there own plants grow and eat if it is a vegetable IE sunflower, zucchini, beans 2)plant a tree in the community at a seniors residence ,school or at there home now they have a life time project to watch.3)every year in our scouting group with the younger kids 5-7 yearolds we fill egg cartons with soil and flower seeds and the kids take them home and grow and latter transplant into the garden second SCOUT TREES we go out as a group and plant 800 trees in a well deserving area in the community here the kids can return year after year to watch what they have planted and we give each child each year a tree to take home to take care of what better way to teach them about the environment and there community

that sounds like a fun and cool idea! kids love that stuff and it's a great learning experience. i remember in first grade we had a project to plant some seeds in a milk carton. i thought it was fun =) 'cept we never really saw them to grow because this one idiot kid decided to be all helpful and water them.. and pretty much drowned them.

Most children I know, enjoy being part of a positive experience.I think if they were introduced to the beneficial aspects of nature, they would happily conform.
