F = B + 2

F-12 = 2(B - 12)

Substitute F in the 2nd equation

(B + 2) - 12 = 2(B - 12)

B - 10 = 2B - 24

- 10 = B - 24

14 = B

So the brother is 14 years old

F = B + 2

F = 14 + 2

F = 16

Freder is 16 years old

x-12 = age of her brother twelve years ago

2(x-12) = age of Freder 12 years ago

Today,

age of Freder 12years ago +12 = age of Freder today

2(x-12) +12 = 2 + x

2x -24 + 12 = 2 + x

2x - x = 2 + 24 -12

x = 14 (age of her brother today)

x + 2 = 16 (Freders age today)

Freder is 36 and her brother is 18.

the only possible answer i found was she is 16 now

and the boy is 14 since 12 yrs ago she was 4 and he was 2, 4 is twice the age he was
