What Opera is Caro mio ben taken from?

Caro mio ben is an Arietta written by Giuseppe Giordani, and i am working on a report about this piece for my applied voice course. Unfortunately i can not find any history on the specific piece, nor what opera it was taken from. Any one got a clue?

Update:

It is noted in Opera - an anthological history. That it is known for being in collections and that the name of the opera it is derived from is seldom recognized.... thus the question remains... What was the opera?

Unless I'm sorely mistaken, Caro mio ben is not from any opera, rather it is an 18th century Italian Art Song.

Beyond that I don't have any other info. Good luck.

Caro mio ben is not a piece from an opera, it is considered either an early music piece, or a madrigal.

Loony Du has said it all. I can`t trace it in any opera dictionary, or recital from a 50+ year collection. I too think it is an art song, a program filler for recitals., but has no opera history. Good luck in your search.
