Why are you a Democrat or a Republican?

I am a Democrat but the way they have handled themselves since taking power in Congress has really irritated me, particularly with Pelosi saying impeachment is out of the question.

I'm a Democrat because I believe in the personal rights and civil liberties of the American people. The government needs to stay out of the private lives of citizens.

This statement isn't typicle of the democraticparties way!

The Democrats are the very ones who are going to get into your very private lives! They are going to control how, when where and by whom you receive your medical treatments. i.e. Hillary and Obamas socialistic heath plans!

It is the view of the democratic party that the average person in this country is incapable of managing his/her own life, ergo they intend to do it for you, by initiating more and more big government projects (like who in the hell is gonna pay for all that?) This will all be paid for by the raising of taxes for the entirety of the US population, excepting the illegal aliens that the democrats are encouraging to remain here and to hurry up an come here before the people of this country get so fed up with it that there is a revolution! You people think it's bad now, just wait! If a Democrat gets in the White House it's gonna be a hell of a lot worse!

I was a Democrat until all they ever talked about is turning us into failed countries like the Soviet Union and Cuba.

I would love to see a common sense Democrat again but the nut jobs in the primaries won't allow for that.

I choose to be a Democrat because I believe that a government's primary duty is to protect its citizens and to promote an excellent quality of life for its citizens. Plus I also believe in protecting the environment and leaving it in a better condition than when we found it. Therefore, I have always thought that Democrat ideals fit into my beliefs the best.

I was a Republican because I believed:

1. that taxation was one of the most basic ways to deprive people of freedom, and that the party that wants lower taxes was actually advocating freedom.

2. Except for the elderly and handicapped, it is unnatural to give people handouts. I have no problem helping people who want to help themselves, but just to give away money creates dependency.

I no longer am a Republican, as I registered "unenrolled" last week. The big reason was the 0 for 20 in balanced budgets. If you don't tax, then you have to hold the line on spending, which Republicans haven't.

I hate Marxists and big government authoritarian policies. So I decided to quit my DTS party (Decline to State) and registered as a Libertarian just to put an interesting blip on somebody's analysis screen.

Judging from our current choices, I think I'll stick with the Libertarians, even if some of them are weirdo pot smokers...

We tossed tea overboard once; we can always do it again...

I'm a moderate because I'm capable of independent thought and cognitive reason. I don't need a political party telling me how to vote or what to believe in.

I am a Democrat because I believe in the world view that we are all in this together instead of every man for themselves. And I fallow representatives of the peoples will instead of father figures that know best. I believe that the government is us people instead of some boogie man out to get me. When I give I do not let people know I gave instead of giving for the acknowledgment that I gave.

I used to be a Republican. I agree more with their side although I'm not too happy with the current brand of big govt. Republicans.

I'm an independent because independence is the American way. However, I do lean towards the Democrats because I have a preexisting condition and therefore, can't get covered.
