ESPN and the Tennis Channel dropped coverage of IW and Miami?

Are you going to watch on FSN

Watch on FSN and write a letter complaining to Tennis Channel

or something else

http://www.tennis.com/features/general/features.as...

Update:

I tried to find out who the commentators for FSN will be, but no luck.

Update 2:

FSN is also known as Fox Sports Net or depending on the area you live something along those lines. If you have any of the Fox sports channels you will have this channel. My biggest concern is the camerawork and commentators. Tennis Channel is basically dropping all of the big events they were supposed to carry for Slam coverage (which sucks anyway, ESPN 360 is better).

That's ridiculous. Good thing I have FSN. I just don't understand why Tennis Channel dropped IW and Miami. What's the point of a Tennis Channel if it doesn't even carry this type of events :p

That is so lame of ESPN, especially considering that they have so many different channels that they could broadcast IW and Miami on (ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN CL, etc.), so as not to conflict with their NCAA basketball coverage. You would think that the Tennis Channel would be there to pick up the slack, but since I have Comcast, and thus don't get the Tennis Channel, I'm glad that FSN will be broadcasting. It will be weird not having Pat McEnroe, Cliff Drysdale, Pam Shriver, Mary Joe Fernandez, and the rest of the ESPN commentators not covering these events though.

thats truly strangest thing i've heard. indian wells and miami have been such fixtures on espn+2 for such a long time-i know since i started watching in 99/2000. so that's a bit odd for them to pull it like that. and then for tennis channel not take it seems dumb. and for a sport that people often complain doesn't get much attention in america, this certainly doesn't help that matter much. these are two of the biggest tournaments of year, aside from the slams, and it just feels stupid to have it on FSN which is not as huge a network as espn. they should be ashamed of themselves, really.

    Masters Series TV.

I ordered it for a year. I can watch every single Masters event. You can watch live. You can pay per event, and maybe per day, but I'm not sure. Notice there are 2 "s"

Eric C hit it right on the money. Get rid of poker!! And, comeon', what's up with watching some guys sitting in a boat hoping to catch a fish!?!? That's ridiculous. Of course, I think that's usually early in the morning.

Everyone has to write to ESPN2 and say; WTF!!

Where is FSN? I'm not sure I get that. Its nicer to watch on TV than my computer, even though I have a really excellent 2nd monitor. Still....

What!? How can tennis channel drop ANY matches/tournies?!?! Isn't that why they exist??? To show us tennis. Dagnabit!

Thanks for the info. I'll check FSN -I might have it.

I don't have any attachments to the commentators from espn. Pat Shriver? please. Anyhow, I like EuroSport, they're the best commentators.

Source(s): Definitely writing letters to espn2 and TC.

Yes, why downgrade good things? ESPN should cover these two big events. I have no FSN in my country. Please do something for the sake of worlwide fans and tennis.

Are you kidding me? I am so mad now. I have been looking forward to IW and Miami ever since the AO ended, and now I can't even see it. That is so unfair. I hope they dont drop anything else. A few years ago, they dropped the WTA year end championships, and that also got me upset.

This really bothers me that ESPN dropped the coverage of these two tournaments, especially the Miami one. I really enjoy watching that one.

I don't care, I don't live in USA and I don't watch the events on ESPN. AljazeeraSport Channel shows everything for me.

Maybe the Williamses got ESPN to dish IW and Miami also. You know they do not wish to play IW, but after 2009, I think it will be mandatory.
