I'd love to go on a journey of enlightenment?

I really want to go on some sort of journey, like a pilgrimage but I don’t have any real religious commitments. I like all things spiritual, from wicca to Christianity. I’ve been to Mount Sinai in Eygpt and LOVED it, but didn’t ‘do’ the pilgrim journey.

I’d also like to have an experience where I’d be in a group of people trying to live without modern day luxuries, like in a jungle.

I’m open to all suggestions. Thanks.

Update:

who knew i'd cause so much offence with such a simple question!

Update 2:

I really like the idea of Nepal. I'm a professional writer (editor) so I would have a lot to offer in terms of teaching English; however, I don't really want to do something that gap year students do.

You should come to the shamanism conference this summer.

Healers, shaman and researchers from all over will be there. It is a great opportunity to meet people you might want to spend more time with or travel with to sacred sites in Peru.

You can go teach English (don't need a degree, only requirement is that English be your first language) in Nepal to Buddhist monks and they, in return, will teach you about Buddhism.
