Graphic card and Power Supply?

Okay here's my issue I want a new Graphic card to play computer games. The graphic card i have now is only 128mb(model: ATI Raedon x300 series). The new one that i have my eyes on is 512mb which can be found below. I was woundering if my computer's power supply can handle the graphics card because i have 300W powersupply with....

-Pentium D(dual core)

-3gb

-2 optical drive

-tuner card

-128mb graphic card ( which will be replace with the 512mb if it works)

-2 fans

Does the card requires 300watts for itself or it only needs a power supply of 300watts?

CAN MY COMPUTER HANDLE IT?

Graphic card-

Yeah that card will work with a 300w PSU, but don't waste your money on such a terrible card. It'll perform almost exactly the same as the card you have now. And half of that 512MB will go to waste as the card doesn't have a 256bit bus...so in reality you're getting a 256MB card.

At least go for an 8600GT if you want any kind of performance increase.

ye it can handle it. But you should have put the information of the mother board as well to see if the motherboard is compatiable with your card. But with 2 fans to prevent over heating, it's good. And the card needs 300watts of power supply so your ready to install it.

alway try to remember that the memory on a video card is not as important as the gpu clock frequency , i`m not sure if your into serious gaming if you are try to get a card with a higher frequency ( in the 700-800 mhz range ) then upgrade your power supply to any from 600 - 700 watts for best performance.

I suppose, if you don't do any changes the the voltage of the CPU and stuff in teh bios system.. it should be able to handle it. Cuz some people even have 2 graphic cards.. and the compute rjust works fine...

you will not at all get crysis 3 to run on max settings with that equipment, alongside with bf3 and bioshock. you decide on a greater valuable photos card and a greater valuable processor. i choose to propose a minimum of a Nvidia GTX 660Ti or an AMD Radeon HD 7850 or 7870. As for the processor you will choose to bump it as much as love an i5 3570k and additionally you will choose a cooler for it, like a corsair H50 or some thing.

It would be a great idea to increase your power supply by at least 200 W.
