well, for one thing, we would still be under british rule....well, that's debatable, we would not have ever heard of people like John Hancock, and the roles of George Washington, John Adams, and all the others presidents of the US would be greatly reduced or be completely erased. We still might have gone to war, but without an official document to stand behind as a symbol of our desires and wishes for freedom We would never have heard that phrase, "all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
We would have the exact same structure of government that Britain has, as well as the same currency of the pound. We would not have had the Civil War, slavery would have been outlawed sooner. The way of life that we know, the American Dream, all of it would not exist today...that's such an incredibly profound question to think about, and yet I've never thought about that before.

There would be no United States if not for the Declaration of Independence. Just as the title conveys, the document was to outline the north American colonies' desire to secede from the United Kingdom. The document was signed by the wealthiest and most powerful men in the colonies to represent the will of the people.

Try to feel approximately the amendments as patches. When the Constitution used to be signed they'd no approach to understand the problems that could arise a few 2 hundred years later, so congress needed to patch up a few issues.

Again, we'd be under the thumb of England. We would call crackers and cookies biscuits. Tell people we'd have to use the loo. And a boot wouldn't be something we'd wear on our feet ... it would be a trunk. Starbucks wouldn't be so popular because we'd all be drinking Earl Grey tea (and yes, we'd spell "gray" with an e!). OMG ... without Starbucks? *Excuse me, I have to faint ...*
