How many pipe(s) can I paint with 5 litres of paint?

One pipe is 600 cm long and 25 cm in diameter. The pipe is hollow (meaning there are openings at both ends).

Update:

Assume that the thickness of a layer of paint is about 0.01 cm.

Update 2:

The pipe will be painted with brush.

    I think we need more info??? Like how much area a certain amount of paint (one can/litre perhaps?) will cover.

    Surface Area Cylinder (pipe) = 2(pi r sq.) + (2 pi r)* h

    It has no ends so just - (2 pi r)* h

    When you find the area of one pipe (and if you know how much you can cover with 5 litres) you can do the division - Amount 5 litres can cover divided by the area of one pipe.

    Edit:

    Thanks for the extra info. So...

    Area of 1 pipe -

    (2*pi*r)*h

    =78*600

    =47123.89 cm sq.

    Area Covered by 5 litres (at thickness of 0.01cm)

    We know the volume of paint and height to which it should be applied - we have to find the area it will cover.

    V=surface area x height

    5000 = A x 0.01

    A=5000/0.01

    = 500,000 cm sq.

    This is the area 5 litres will cover - now divide by the area of one pipe to see how many you can paint.

    500000/47,123.89

    =10.61 pipes

    So 10 pipes.

    What thickness do you want? Will the paint be applied by spray gun or brush. Just two more variables in the question.
