What would you charge to make this website?
I designed this website at www.curetype2diabetes.inf o . I already billed them but I think I under charged. I want to get an idea of how much I should have charged so I know for the future.
I not only planned the whole layout and entered all of the content ( I re-worded some of the content but did not write it.). But I also created the header logo, the book cover and the free vacation logo. On top of that I setup the paypal e-commerce which might not look like much but require PHP and MYSQL. Also, speed was very important to my client so I finished the job in less than in a week. Keep in mind the site include 24 total pages and has been completely hand coded in CSS and XHTML.
I added the space because yahoo was showing it as www.curetype2diabetes.inf... now that I'm awake I realize it would have just made the thing a link so the address is www.curetype2diabetes.info.
I charged $300, he's going to pay me $400 because he's so happy with it.
It is my first site, the google ad's are the clients Idea, the client already has his e-mail address plastered all over the web. No I did not research other e-book retailers as I don't know of any who are selling a single book.

It's not dead. The URL above has a space in inf o ........ a simple mistype that can happen.
In any event, the site looks nice and clean, easy to navigate.
I would've charged an easy 700$ for it.
The market for web designers is dog eat dog and many, many designers work from home on their personal PC. You wouldn't believe how low paying it can be, especially when you run into snags, bugs, etc. I've seen sites equal to this one go for 500$ on the designers end. Consider what the company charges above and beyond that. Multiply by how many contracts they get. They don't need to charge a huge %.

What did you charge? Is this your first website? Why are there google adwords on the page to distract people from buying the book? Did you use a template structure to make easy tweaks to the site? Did you include a content management system so that the owner can add new articles or content? Are they aware that having the email address on the site will result in a ton of spam? Did you research the marketing of e-books and the designs used by successful e-book retailers?
I think the customer got what they paid for.

Well Logo Design alone would go for $150 - $450. Overall, based on 24 pages and the simplicity of the design, this job should have been charged somewhere in the neighborhood of $750 - $1250 at minimum. Good Job.

I would charge an hour based price.
If you say one week, 8 hours per day:
50 € * 8 * 5 = 2000 €.
Then, does the site need any maintenance? Hosting? Support? Training?
