Why did you become a NBA fan?

Two words: Magic Johnson. I was very young, but his performance in the 79-80 series v. the Sixers hooked me for life. He is still my all-time favorite athlete. How dare you! ;)

I was influenced by my grandfather...way back in 1996...I was 7 back then when i watched my first NBA game, and it is the finals between the Seattle Supersonics and the 72-10 Chicago Bulls...the bulls dominated the series 3-0, but the sonics rallied back to 3-2...but the bulls won in 6 games...I love Dennis Rodman back then, i still remember when he rode over Shawn Kemp...i'm 19 now, and growing up I've hated jordan and the bulls since i became a jazz fans...then hated the lakers...and finally the spurs...from 1996-2007 the only championship that i really appreciated...and would always remain in my heart forever...is the Detroit Pistons 2004 championship run...it was really a heartfelt victory...i'm sick of seeing championships by the spurs...i remember crying last year's championship games...i'm also pissed with eva longoria...why wud she brag that her hubby is the best point guard??? that's crap...cp3, d-will, snash, jkidd, jcalderon, ford, harris, mowilliams are way2 better...i'm hoping that my 2008 would be great, if other teams would shut the spurs...i wud be delighted...since the patriots got their sore loser's *** kicked by d giants...i'm also very much relieved...i just hate dynasties...i love the underdogs...

I became a fan as a young buck growing up in an area with absolutely nothing to do (Sacramento,CA). When the Kings moved to Sacramento in 1985 my mom purchased season tickets. Going to NBA games as a youth triggered an intense passion for the game. The inventor of basketball James Naismith once said, "I am sure that no man can derive more pleasure from money or power than I do from seeing a pair of basketball goals in some out of the way place." I'm sure if he were alive today, he'd love the game like we do...........

I became an NBA fan because I have always loved playing basketball. I started watching NCAA and became a pretty big UNC fan. I started watching for some of our guys after they hit the NBA and ended up becoming a fan.

Plus I live in Georgia and the Hawks need all the support they can get =)

I became an NBA fan because of Michael Jordan. He simply ruled the game from beginning to end and made the hearts of other players seem unworthy of playing in the NBA. That is how good he really was.

observing Oscar Robertson play for the Cincinnati Royals and later with the Milwaukee greenbacks and Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). the super 'O' is the only NBA participant to popular a triple-double for a complete season! by skill of ways, that replaced into Jabbar's first NBA Championship!

I started playing basketball i like first grade, I liked it so much that I started watching it on T.V. I'm still a bigger college basketball fan though.

When the Kobe-Shaq team begun dominating....circa 1999.

I was hooked only on baseball before then.

I just love basketball in general it is fun to watch such great athletes battle it out each night
