What HD or flash cam takes the best stills?

I don't want to take both on atrip and keep switching. Please don't suggest 1 of the cannon megabuck models. Thanks.

    If "best" = highest pixel count for stills, then I think this is it:

    But keep in mind that, traditionally, good camcorders don't take very good stills and good still cameras don't take very good video...
