It has been many years since farthings were used in England. Since decimalisation in the 1970's, the currency in England has been the pound, which is made up of one hundred pence. Currently the one pound equals around 1.98 dollars. Use www.xe.com to convert any currency values.

OK, the currency in the United Kingdom is the Pound Sterling; 100 pence equal 1 Pound Sterling. For current exchange rates, please check any bank dealing foreign currencies, or newspapers, or the Internet.
The farthing used to be the smallest coin, a quarter penny, and it's been out of use for a very long time. Today, the farthing is just a collector's item.

When farthings where around they where a quarter of a penny. In those days a farthing would actually buy you something maybe a farthings worth of biscuits or a sweet or 2 . Today if you have any farthings they could have a bit of value to them now. 12 pennies made a shilling and 20 shillings was one pound
