For all supporters of the America-Israel relationship there is enough information beyond the glare of the klieg lights to give one pause. In contrast to his canned speeches filled with "poetry" and uplifting aphorisms and delivered in a commanding way, behind the campaign façade lies a disquieting pattern of behavior.
One seemingly consistent theme running throughout Barack Obama's career is his comfort with aligning himself with people who are anti-Israel advocates. This ease around Israel animus has taken various forms. As Obama has continued his political ascent, he has moved up the prestige scale in terms of his associates. Early on in his career he chose a church headed by a former Black Muslim who is a harsh anti-Israel advocate and who may be seen as tinged with anti-Semitism. This church is a member of a denomination whose governing body has taken a series of anti-Israel actions. As his political fortunes and ambition climbed, he found support from George Soros, multibillionaire promoter of groups that have been consistently harsh and biased critics of the American-Israel relationship.
Obama's soothing and inspiring oratory sometimes vanishes when he talks of the Middle East. Indeed, his off-the-cuff remarks have been uniformly taken by supporters of Israel as signs that the inner Obama does not truly support Israel despite what his canned speeches and essays may contain.
Now that Obama has become a leading Presidential candidate, he has assembled a body of foreign policy advisers who signal that a President Obama would likely have an approach towards Israel radically at odds with those of previous Presidents (both Republican and Democrat). A group of experts collected by the Israeli liberal newspaper Haaretz deemed him to be the candidate likely to be least supportive of Israel. He is the candidate most favored by the Arab-American community.
From me: Obama calls his Pastor Jeremiah Wright Jr his spiritual mentor. Wright hates Jews and is friends with Luis Farrakhan and Momar Quaddafi. Wright has used many terms in public that disparage Jews. Obama will say he denounces Farrakhan but not Wright.
On the other hand, he did co-sponser a Bill with Tom Landos (a holocaust survivor) that divested money from Iran.
In my area it is thought that if he becomes President he would pressure Israel to give up more land and not pressure the Palestinians to disarm. but that is just the consensus.
I am guessing given the fact that he lived in Indonesia as a child and went to a Muslim school for a year that he wll have some anti-Jewish biased even if he is not even aware of it.
To my knowledge he has not publically stated (exactly and directly) what his policy would be. He cannot afford to lose either the Jewish vote or the Muslim vote right now so will no doubt not say anything until he cannot keep from saying it.

the priority precise now could be that Israel refuses to barter something with them. Olmert has taken the u . s . a .'s hard stance on terrorism and that's only inflicting the terrorist communities to be greater aggressive. And Israel's previous invasion of Lebanon and refusal of border agreements have not helped issues the two. If the US and Israel make some compromises over the hostages and the border subject concerns, they are in a position to surrender the present conflict. yet whether that works out do no longer assume it to final. There isn't peace as long as Israel remains there.

A policy! I thought this was all image, and all about blacks and women! A big popularity thing!
Why can't the big issues be the focus? I fear for the USA. I worry there is not enough maturity, integrity and courage in any of the remaining candidates.
Perhaps Obama will surprise me and become a good leader, but I am concerned for your nation.

He says Israel's safety is of the up-most importance and is our strong ally, but has been polled as the worst for Israel by the Israeli's and most of the Jewish voters. I don't believe what he says. Anyway, he'll try appeasement like with all the other countries, which never works.

Obama is all about rhetoric, not Policy. If you haven't figured that out yet, start paying more attention to what he is NOT saying!!!!
Slamming Nafta, when NAFTA is one of the best things to happen to the USA in terms of trade between Canada and the USA is just Idiotic!!! Canada Suffers, because WE have the raw goods!!!!!!
He should be spending more time talking to his experts, muzzling his wife from saying anything controversial and so forth if he really expects to WIN.

Take a look at his record in the Senate. He has constantly voted in favor of sending aid, both military and economic, to Israel.

He doesn't care anything about the Israelis. He's sympathetic to the Muslim cause.
