Why do all Americans tolerant high gas prices.?
I mean come on man, gas is $3.30+ for regular, and some places $4.00+ for Premium! 2 words had have to say, DAMN MAN! anyway why do we tolerant this $hit from the greedy oil people, Like you and I are force to pay top dollar for a few precious gallons of gas just to drive our 20 mpg vehicles. this sucks if you own a suv or truck or van, but most of us ignore this problem and go on with our daily lives and do this every day. So who's outrage! we need EV CARS!

Gas prices are determined by greedy commodities speculators on Wall Street, not entirely by greedy Arabs. Bush has little influence on oil prices, except for his control of the "Strategic Reserves." Thus far he's refused to release them. Time will tell if that has any effect on fuel prices. In the long term it won't, because oil supplies are diminishing.
$3.30 a gallon is not a lot, compared to what the rest of the world pays for fuel. Increasing demand from India and China is going to drive the price up even higher, as energy industry leaders realize that "peak oil*" production has likely already happened, and that, without a HUGE discovery of a new oil field (Antarctica, maybe?), "proven reserves" and actual production will dwindle over the next few decades.
Park the SUV and the muscle cars. If it doesn't get 30 mpg highway, get rid of it. Ride a bicycle or walk. Carpool. Buy a 150cc motor scooter for "fair weather" commuting.
This is a rare example where selfish actions- conserving fuel to save money- actually benefits society as a whole.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Wikipedia:
"Optimistic estimations of peak production forecast a peak will happen in the 2020s or 2030s and assume major investments in alternatives will occur before a crisis. These models show the price of oil at first escalating and then retreating as other types of fuel and energy sources are used.[3].
"Pessimistic predictions of future oil production operate on the thesis that the peak has already occurred[4][5][6][7] or will occur shortly[8] and, as proactive mitigation may no longer be an option, predict a global depression, perhaps even initiating a chain reaction of the various feedback mechanisms in the global market which might stimulate a collapse of global industrial civilization."
For the record, I'm a pessimist, I assume people will take the stupidest possible course of action- which is probably why I see so many SUVs on the road today.

Life sucks, then you die. Buy a higher-mpg car. You think some 15 dollar an hour accounting clerk at Chevron has it any better than you? We pay what we deserve to pay. This country is the flagship for gross overconsumption, and all the idiots who bought vehicles that average 12 miles per gallon back when gas was two bucks are crying the blues now. It's hard for me to find sympathy for them, and it's also easy to find fault with them, since they are the ones feeding the car makers' demand for all these inefficient vehicles instead of opting for higher-efficiency vehicles and forcing car makers to comply. Maybe when fuel is five bucks a gallon, people will realize what is going on.

What do we do?
Trade our present jobs for local ones and get on a bicycle?
We have harnessed the ability to combust water ( H2O 1 Hydrogen / 2 Oxygen)
In order for water to combust you must have a pre-heated ignition source. ( like flicking a wet hand at a hot skillet, as soon as the water drops hit the pan, they combust turning to a vapor) So yes , it is possible to make a motor that runs on water.
But who ever mass produces this type motor will be assassinated by the oil investors. They won't let it happen
We new this when we dropped the bomb on Hiroshima.
Fact is the present oil investors and stock holders would loose to much of there nest eggs if we started using water.
Our next step will be towards natural gas like propane, because the same company's who pump the oil , pump the natural gases out of the grounds also. And the present investors will still hold control of these company's, and make money off of them................ from us.

Americans toleRATED no drilling in ANWAR and no drilling along the eastern continental shelf where there are known major oil deposits. Americans tolerated a virtual ban on new refineries to the point that it now imports gasoline in addition to crude. Americans tolerated bans on new nuke generating plants and are told they cannot have any more coal or gas fired generation due to "Global Warming": not going to get hydrogen from water with solar or wind power and there won't be much excess to charge ev's-so, basicly, Americans tolerate high gas prices because they did it to themselves.

In Europe all the cars are diesel. Gas is 7-8 dollars a gallon.
I wouldn't ***** too much, perhaps do something about it.
Junking your SUV would be a start.

Cars are a necessary evil. We can ***** all we want to but we are addicted to gas and the oil companies know it. Alternative fuels like natural gas is renewable but it is still high as hell. You know that tax rebate check you are going to be getting for stimulus? They know it, so they are taking the time to gouge a little. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

His first winter in the White House, the oval office was kept at 80 degrees so I hope he doesn't blame me for keeping mine at 68 but it wouldn't surprise me. Al Gore and Obama usually don't practice what they preach. See below: "Obama's aides had a simpler explanation. Though he's spent more than 20 years in Chicago, the president was born in Hawaii. And so he "likes it warm" in the Oval Office, said Chief of Staff David Axelrod. "You could grow orchids in there," he told the New York Times. But while it's perpetual summer in the Oval Office, the rest of the country has been trudging through a tough winter. Ice storms have cut power to millions in the Midwest and South. With few orchids growing in the heartland, critics are saying that Obama -- who urged individual sacrifice in an inaugural address that called for a "new era of responsibility" -- hasn't been willing to bear the cold with the rest of the country. "It's stunning hypocrisy," said Christopher Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute and author of two books critical of global warming activists. "Obama spins the dial up, takes off his coat and seeks to mandate that we turn the dial down," he said.

I for one would rather drive a normal car and pay three bucks a gallon than drive a super gay Prius.

in my part of the uk the price is about $10 a gallon so that is really really cheap.
