Is it ok to use......?

a standard sized back pack for a carry-on on an airplane? Or is it too big? With all of these can & cannots it gets confusing what is allowed and whats not!

    Yes you should be fine with a backpack as your carry on. You are also also one more additional personal item (ie. pocketbook) with you to carry on the aircraft.

    I also have my pocketbook and my laptop bag with me on the aircraft and have never had an issue.

    Yes standard back pack is okay, but just make sure you don't have any container with more than 3 oz. and wear a easy removable shoes.

    You know what TSA stands for? Too much Standing Around. Just look when you are going through the security. Bad attitude and laziness.

    That won't be too big at all. TSA requires that all carry-ons fit through the X-Ray machine (which yours definitely will) and the other requirements vary per airline. If you're every in doubt, visit your airline's website.
