Tennis Players and Pros: Have you ever used Hit-A-Way Tennis Training system? How about PracticeHit?

Hit-A-Way is on a pole. Looks like tether ball.

PracticeHit is grounded to any point you choose.

If you've tried one or both, please comment and/or compare.

I am considering introducing these training aids for juniors.

Thanks!

    I have used the Hit-A-Way.

Pros; You can take a full swing at the ball, and hit it hard.Thats not something you can really do with a backboard.

It's easy to set up.I attached it to a support pole in a garage.

It's made well.It can take alot of abuse.

Cons; You will sometimes hit the tubing.I've never been hurt, but it is annoying.

It's difficult to time hitting the ball.Since it's unwinding, not coming at you in the normal way it can feel awkward.

But you can get into a rhythm.

You will sometimes have to restart it,to get it looping around the pole tightly.

Overall,I think it is a good device.I don't tend to use it for a very long time. It's just good to take some full swings at the ball when you can't get out to a court that day.

I haven't used the other device.

If you are just starting playing tennis seriously at 19, honestly I do NOT think you can achieve too much as a pro. That's because you will be competing against other pros who have have been eating tennis strings for breakfast since the age of 7. They have many more hours than you on the court. I know, it sucks, I have found the same problem when I started playing table tennis and chess at around the age of 17 (too old). However, I think you can become a strong player if you wish to pursue this, and can become a coach for younger players or maybe even a coach for pros.
