are political candidates exempt from the do not call list ?
yesterday I recieved 2 calls one left a message on my answering machine from Barack Obama(obviously a recording) soliciting my vote . . . but I have my number on the national do not call list . . are cadidates exempt or is this a violation I should report

Yes they are exempt. The national "do-not-call" list does not protect consumers from every type of unwanted phone call.
Political organizations, charities and telephone surveyors are free to make unsolicited calls without receiving a penalty, as are any companies or their subsidiaries you may have had a previous business relationship with.

Yes of course, do you think they would make a law that they had to follow?
