how do you all feel about Brett's retirement? do you think Brett Favre will stay retired for long?

also, any word from former coach Mike Holmgren about Brett's decision? what's it going to be like when the the first kickoff to the season begins and Brett's not there to play?

i feel good about it now. Y!A constant reminder of it helped me cope quickly, and i think he will remain retired for the rest of his life.

i think of he rather skill it this time. except the Vikings front place of work workforce pulls off some miracle and he comes back, Tavaris Jackson would be commencing in 2010-2011, he's familiar with whilst he's complete. After the NFC recreation, he knew that he had too lots placed on and tear on his physique. Heck, hes been enjoying for 19 years! i recognize a lot of people could want Favre to get killed available, run over by utilising the Saints or Cowboys offense. besides the shown fact that it rather is nice he's retiring. he's had that ankle surgical treatment what, three times now? terrific of success to Favre i'm a vikings fan, hes making the stunning decision

I feel good I thought he should have retired two years ago, but came back strong last year and had the team within a game of the Super Bowl. He should stay retired, he doesn't need to play for anyone else at this point. Can't you just see in in Nascar someday? Thanks for all the great moments and forced interceptions #4.See you in Canton in 2012. I'll gonna get my tickets for the 2012 Hall of Fame ceremonies today. The NFC North's best QB today without Farve? Grossman, Kinta, Jackson, or Rogers, that looks like some ugly football. Better be able to stop the run you think.

While I'm really disappointed about his decision (I was really hoping he wouldn't retire until he had another superbowl victory under his belt!), I think he will stay retired. 17 seasons is a lot of seasons and there's no doubt he's had an amazing run. However, just because he isn't in the game, that doesn't mean he's gone gone. I think he'll come back to help out the team, maybe coach a little bit.

I think, though, that he is in need of some well deserved rest and family time. But we definitely haven't seen the last of him yet. =o)

I think that it'll be good for him. He's been with the Packers for so long now, that he needs the time with his family, and friends. He has more than enough money to survive, and he'll still be able to hang out with the friends that he's made while in the league. It won't be the same team without him, but the fans will find another person to cheer on in the games, and the team will go forward. As much as I like Brett, he isn't the only person that made the Packers. Brett is entitled to retire, and I think that he should do whatever is in his heart, and whatever his family feels is best for them.

I expect him to unretire before the season starts. I won't believe he's retired until the Packers take the field with Aaron Rodgers behind center on opening day. Favre's retirement would make the NFC North a competitive division, giving the Vikings and Lions a chance to win it, but Green Bay would remain the favorite.

His playing rights will remain with Green Bay, so he is done. It would be interesting to have seen what he could have commanded on the open market - rent a QB for a season - but it's fitting he retires with the club (how strange was it to see Unitas a Changer, Namath a Ram and Montana a Chief).

Management has prepared for several years for the inevitable and I just hope the fans give Aaron Rodgers a chance.

Its just tough....I honor his decision, while feeling kinda lost about it...We have such a young talented team, a good coach, and tons of salary cap...We have a chance to dominate the division, thus equalling runs into the playoffs....Brett knows that, the team, the fans, and the organization.....I have a feeling this isnt going away....Its early and the season is two seasons away..Alot of time to reflect and think...i hope he comes back, but he has earned his stripes either way....Im 25 from Wi....Seen 'Magics' latter years and all the glorious Sundays of the 'Ironmans'....So im wishfully thinking about this......Brett will always be the man!!!!!

If Rodgers 'does not' go down in pre-season, I don't think Brett will return. The organization sold him out years ago, yes, I am a life long Packer fan, and used to be a Republican. I will always be a Packer fan and I thank Brett for all the memories. All you jealous Pats and Colts 'Bandwagon' fans, get over it....

I think that it will be really hard for him to not play next season just because he loves the game so much, but I think that he will stand by his decision to retire. I can't see him jerking his fans or his wife around to bounce back and forth. We will truly miss him, it's almost as bad as if he died to know that next year there will be no great number 4 on that field.

No he will probly only stay retired until the season starts then after he sees all the new better receivers we have he will come out of retirment
