I don't see any of the Indian Commandments that talk about not worshiping one god over another. And our laws weren't based solely on the Christian Commandments (some would argue not at all).

They would fit very well within the courtrooms.
Edit...

The Second Indian commandment One Great Spirit...not many.
You also said..

No one is saying that they were copied from the Christian commandment but they surely cover all of the Christian/Judaic commandments...plus, they invoke Jesus' commandment of 'love one another' 3rd Indian commandment.

I wouldn't like to have it in a court room because there is a problem with one of them. Number 6 states, "Do what you know to be right"
These days, too many people call things right when they are wrong. Lots of people even think that way. Some crazy guy may 'know" it is right to murder someone, when in reality, its not. This could be attributed to a mental disorder or religious belief. It would be better if it was changed to "Do what is right" Even then, its not being very specific. The commandments God gave us in the bible are a lot more specific. And those 10 commandments aren't even all of the ones God gave us. 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 are all clearly stated in the bible. I myself don't agree with who the Ten Indian commandments refer too in number two, but its very similiar with number 1 in the Ten Commandments.

Some of this sounds repetitive, only in different words.
And I believe the ten commandments are what we should all morally practice don't you think? So why shouldn't it be in the courtrooms? Because a God is said to have written them?
I find that very sad,,the ten commandments should be practiced everywhere regardless of your religion or standing on God..It would definitely make a better government, justice system and an even better society.
And you should know our laws today are based on some of the ten commandments so what is your real point?
EDIT: Well you need to get one thing straight the ten commandments are not 'christian' commandments, they are God's commandments and yes our laws are based on the ten commandments AKA Mosiac laws, as well as Hammurabis Laws which are derived from the ten commandments, or the MOSIAC LAWS. Considering Hammurabis laws were the very first laws of a society where do you think they originated from? From the Mosiac Laws which are God's law. I think you need to do some research...

I like the way you think!
Most Christians don't realize that there really is no set of "Ten Commandments", though, they are an "extra-biblical" invention! Different parts of the bible list different "rules", and they are not consistent!
Refer to Exodus 20:1-17 & Deuteronomy 5:6-21, and chose the "Ten" you like out of God's seventeen or so Commandments!
Most Christians seem oblivious to God's last "Commandment" there (which one might assume was the most important, since He saved it for last), namely: "Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."

I love that idea! Those are fantastic ideals to live by, just like the Ten Commandments that belong to Christians. In fact, let's post all ideals that promote respect of one another and of propriety in the courtrooms of this nation.

if the ten commandments are posted so should the ten Indian commandments
(and by the way the ten commandments were originally given to the Jews which then technically means they are given to the Christians since Christianity came from Judaism so when you refer the question to Christians remember the Jews too)

the ten indian commandments i guess are good. if all of society followed them we would have a better world. i still prefer the 10 commandments.
(why do people not keep the sabbath day holy, as in going to restaurants and shopping on sunday though,?)
(why do people take the lord's name in vain, then say they are christian? they just insulted their god! thankfully i don't do that stuff.)
are you having a bad day, Jim M?

5. Thou SHALT leave valuable contributions for future generations.
6. Thou SHALT live in peace with thy fellow man.
7. Thou SHALT live this one life thou hast to its fullest.
8. Thou SHALT follow a Personal Code of Ethics.
9. Thou SHALT maintain a strict separation between Church and State.

Our Lord tells us, "Judge not and you shall not be judged.....For with what measure you judge. so you shall be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get." (Mt 7:1-3)
On earth, every person has the potential of becoming good, better and even a saint by the force and power of God's graces.
It is our duty to help, not judge or condemn. We must help to bind up the wounds of repentant sinners, and help them become the men and women God wants them to be.

The ONE AND ONLY place that the ten commandments, from any belief system, do any good, is in the heart and mind! Who cares what is pretty to look at, and costs tax payers to see it? Learn them, practice them, and don't worry where you can "read" them. The Bible has it covered. <')))><
