What's going on in Kona July 8th-ish through 18th-ish (Flight trouble)?

I just priced airfare this morning, but now the flight is completely booked. Only for these two days (7/8-7/18). Something seems fishy! I know Iron Man is in October, but mid July?? Anyone know of anything?

Update:

Other flights to Kona on the same day with a different airline are less than 10% full (they're just almost $1000 and I'm not paying that much). Flights for April/May are only about 50% full. I rarely book airfare more than 3 months out (even for Hawaii), so I don't think it's "late" by any means. Thanks for the response though. :)

I checked a couple of sights...all the Hawaiian cities are socked in through July for the economy rates.on most sights......I found 586-639 in July.

    http://dps1./ travelocity.com/dreamMap.ctl

Change Dallas to your city or airport code and fill in KOA for Kona. or click "don't see what you want" for smaller departure cities. 586 is a crop duster out of Honolulu. (just kidding...non jet svc) Kona is a super reverse thrust/ hard braking landing....It's ok, Kona is an incredible city made out of lava. email me if you cannot negotiate the travelocity website. Things to remember about booking...Aloha's round trip is departure plus return..no discount...fares go up on Friday and down on Monday....no fruit or vegetables in or out of Hawaii...bring food for the flight.fill up an empty water container in the airport after going through TSA...for the longer flight. ..Best I can do without knowing more details....Aloha!

Nothing major going on in Kailua Kona on those dates but you need to keep in mind that the Kona side of the Big Island is where most of the visitors to our island stays during the summer time June-August. What you can try doing is flying into Hilo and drive on over to Kona, It's a beautiful drive either direction you want to drive (Hamakua coast/South). I must say it's kind of late to making your flights but no harm in trying. Good luck.
