Which should I buy? PS3 or Xbox360.?
I want an honest answer, not just that I should buy a PS3 because sony is "better"? Which system has better games? Which system do you own, why, and are games worth their price?

I have both consoles.
here is my experience, see if it is any good to you.and i will try to cover all your questions ( if i were you, i would read it carefully )
First i bought my xbox 360. When i went to buy games i was like wow...hmm... i looked for somewhere where i can buy decent and new games but pay less... what i did and i would like share it with you is on eBay. No matter if you are a ebay person or not but on ebay you can get all the games for half the price. ( i know you cannot trust all the sellers but after buying about 30 games, i have a list of trusty sellers on ebay and if you want i can give it to you ).
I was enjoying my xBox 360 until it died after 3-4 months ( google' xbox 360 problems' for more info ).. i had to send it to microsoft and it took 3 weeks and i got it fixed. I was happy..it took 5-6 weeks and it died again...again i did the same thing and got it back...i was upset anyways.. it took about 7-8 weeks and it broke again...again i did the same thing and got it fixed and back .. i was mad. ( then i found out 33% xbox 360 owners had been gone through the same trouble with their consoles ).
After that i was really afraid to even touch it... you know what i mean.. i wanted to have fun with it but i knew everytime i turn it on could simply be the last time it goes on.
So step by step it came to my mind to get a PS3 .. logically i did some research to find out if PS3 is also going to let me down but i was suprised because i could not find any. More i did read about Ps3 more confident i became about it....well, i saved money and eventually i bought a Ps3.
Since i got my Ps3 i had no single problem with it. It has always been there for me .. and just to let you know, since i got my Ps3 i have not bought any more game for my xBox 360 and the most amazing part is that Ps3 online gaming is free. for example could of weeks ago when i was deciding to get a Call of Duty 4 i was not sure to get it for xBox360 or Ps3 , but when i remembered my experience with xbox 360 and compared it with Ps3 i darted for Ps3 version. Besides i asked myself why i should i buy the xbox 360 and lay something extra out for playing it online when i can play it online for free with Ps3. I got it and i am loving it.
And the same story went for Assissins Creed and i got it for Ps3 although xbox360 version of it was even some bucks cheaper but as i explained xbox 360 can die every time you turn it on/off.
If i were you i would go for PS3. ) 95% of current games are on both consoles but in couple of months there will be some freaking good games exclusively for Ps3 .
Well, xbox 360 has still my respect but Ps3 is honestly a better console.
One more thing, you may think about spending some extra cash on Ps3 but trust me, Ps3 is even cheaper. With Ps3 you can surf internet and play online Wireless but for xbox360 wireless you have buy somthing extra. xBox360 online is not free and is not cheap but Ps3 is free.
I like my xox 360 but i love my Ps3.
( if you think i can answer any other question you may have regarding this, feel free to aks )
Good luck

I own both, and the PS3 is the way to go, i could go on and on like i have in other similar questions, but i cant be bothered, so i'll do bullit points
PS3 cheaper to run - i.e. no payments for online
online on both is exactly the same
PS3 has many more exclusives coming out
PS3 includes a Blu-Ray DVD player that out performs stand alone players costing more than the console
360 has a large failre rate and the ne Falcon Chip hasnt completly cured the problem
PS3 comes with wifi built in
PS3 has bluetooth
PS3 has an internet browser
overall with all the acessories so the PS3 and 360 have the same features the 360 cost 1.57 times as much over 1 year, but then you still have to pay for online play on top.
if you want to know my longer argument check out my answerd questions i must have done it at least 20 times

get a ps3 because a 360 u might get a hardware failure on it most likely
if u get a 360 make sure u get the all black elite i guess more reliable then the other 360's
but a ps3 is most reliable so i sold my 360 and bought a ps3
but the 360 online is really organized has alot of downloadable contents like movies ,shows, game videos, and all of that while demos, games etc..
the ps3 online service is still in development so for the ps3 right now is just demos, games and game videos themes etc.. later they will have downloaded movies and all of that like a 360
so u can do it by a virtual world online just look up "ps3 home"
ps3 has online web browser 360 doesnt
the choice is yours
just remember if u get a 360
u get a 3 free year warranty for the red ring of death that would show 3 red lights instead of green on your xbox 360 console(hardware failure) i just hated sending my 360 back and forth and have to wait at home for the 360 to come in so they wont leave it standing in the front of my door so it can get stolen ]:
my opinion the ps3 have better games to play but its not out yet and u would have to wait on it
which i hate ahh
the 360 has alot more titles out than the ps3 though
i would write more but it would be so long that u probably get bored and stop reading it

really it depends on which games you like the most. im a socom man so ps3 is a no brainer. halo is a horrible overhyped game imo so its not really a hard choice. think about a couple things though...
-the ps3 sold more consoles from launch to the one year point than the 360 with "no games".
-developers made multiplatform games for the 360 then ported them over to the ps3 because they were unfamiliar with the cell processor. ports always suffer in the conversion because they were built around one consoles hardware then made to comply with another. now that they have a little better handle on things all big dev find it easier and cheaper to develop for the ps3 then port to the 360. games like cod4, devil may cry 4, the new star wars games coming out, etc etc are or did develop for the ps3 first then ported over to the 360. ports always suffer in some manner, so from here on out 360 games will always be a lesser version of the ps3 counterpart.
-developers claim to be using over 85% of the 360's power right now while they say they are using around 20% of the ps3's. if the games look almost identical right now, what happens when the ps3 is using 40%, 80% and so on. the 360 wont have a chance at that point and we will see a new console from microsoft.
-when microsoft releases a new console are they going to drop the 360 dead as they did with the original xbox? sony has a ton of support for the ps2 and the ps3 has been released for over a year. the xbox had support for about 3 months after the 360 came out then everybody dropped it. i understand the xbox didnt do well but to completely drop support of it is kinda like saying skrew you to all the original xbox owners. as much as people think sony is a corporate hog, (its funny because they must think microsoft isnt then or something) they give a lot of support to their consumers.
-the list of the 360 games being released this year looks dismal at best. ps3 has a dominating line up coming in 08.
-the ps2 is the best selling console to date with over 150 million consoles being sold. the ps3 is on pace to outsell the ps2 if you compare sales from launch.
-the MGS4 developers stated last wee that they had a hard time fitting their game on the 50gb bluray disc, when bigger, better, and more graphically generated games begin to be released the 9gb of storage on 360 disc's are going to be obsolete. with bluray, firmware was just released that allows players to read a double layer as one layer. meaning they are turning 25gb into 50gb, and the ps3 can read dual layers so soon, if needed, developers could have up to 100gb of storage to make a pretty killer game.
-while xbox live is a good online gaming service, it uses a peer to peer online networking, meaning each 360 user is basically the host all the time, and its been proven the lag is much worse with p2p. cod4 the most popular game on both consoles right now is riddled with lag on the360. the experience is far better on the ps3. ign just had an article on how much better psn is in that aspect
-price difference is irrelevant considering you have to pay for xbox live. the price of the 360 ends up being more expensive than the ps3 in the long run. especially if you wanted the 360 to match the ps3 function for function you would end up paying for another console.
the ps3 is by far a better system. the first year the 360 was a decent system, because the ps3 wasnt out yet. instead of dealing with the rrod, id rather fell confident knowing researchers at stanford use multiple ps3's 24/7 and have never had a problem

same with the other guy there are many pros and cons for both but right now xbox 360 has more games xbox live and tuns of stuff to download the ps3 does not have many game and the ones out are not good and most of the cool things for the ps3 are not out yet like home it was supposed to be released so it is your pick

I bought PS3 slim consoles originally to play exclusively movies. I have recently acquired a few games and love the graphics (even though xbox is superior in this area) of the games. The quietness of the machine and the slim design are great too. The only thing I am unimpressed about is the slow startup process.

TOTALLY GO WITH THE PS3! BluRay all the way baby!! :D
+ I have just been studying a unit on Gaming, and Sony have always been the BEST. (sent Sega into the blackhole in the early 90's when Sony first entered the Gaming industry, and then there was just Nintendo and PlayStation). Sony is way better :-)

Get Playstation 3. I have both of them, but honestly, I prefer the ps3 'cuz of the onlin gaming. It's free! Also, I am kinda scared of using the xbox 360 too much 'cuz of the threat of the Ring of Death.
